Status of AdoptInternational's Application for Hague Accreditation

AdoptInternational has been in the process of applying for Hague Accreditation. By letter dated May 15, 2008, the Council on Accreditation (COA), the organization responsible for Hague accreditation of agencies, denied AdoptInternational’s application for accreditation. The reasons for denial centered on information on our website concerning our programs in Azerbaijan, Guatemala and our home study services. We immediately made appropriate changes to our website and petitioned COA for reconsideration per their policies and procedures. The letter of denial and AdoptInternational’s Petition for Reconsideration are included.

We are aware of other agencies who received letters of denial based on similar issues involving their website that were later granted accreditation so we are confident that AdoptInternational will receive the same consideration.
